Its been an exceptionally busy past few months since our last update our feet don't feel as if they have touched the ground. Besides the drainage we have carried out we spent a good part of the past few months installing all the utilities for 100 No. 8 berth caravans for their seasonal workers. The area had to be leveled and made ready for the vans to be placed, walkways were installed as well as over 3000 metres of gravity sewer pipes, potable and spring water pipes, electricity cable ducts and gas pipes. We also installed a 90,000 litre holding tank for the pump station.
Summer is well and truly underway, so long as you don't count July!
Currently we are constructing a new playing field for a new build primary school in Cinderford, Gloucestershire. The works are from scratch, including stone picking the area which yielded nearly 30 tonnes of stones, levelling, draining and finish off with preparing the whole site for seeding and fertilising. This one is a little tricky as all deliveries have to come in through a small housing estate limiting all loads to 16 tonnes, which made getting the drainer in a little interesting.
We are a few weeks into carrying out the ground works for the construction of a new agricultural building at a site near Evesham in Worcestershire. The footprint is approximately 100m x 60 metres and involved site clearance, levelling, construction of batters and landscaping excavated soils around the site to form bunds to help restrict noise towards the nearby hamlet.
We are also constructing a large menage for a private client which included full site levelling, supply of all fencing materials, specialist geotextiles and sands.
Things are getting busy, which is good all round.
After the recent irrigation installations we have been carrying out in Kent it was nice to see the lads local again at a site near Evesham. This time it was the installation of around 1000 metres of twin wall duct, a pretty straight forward job with only a few water pipes and hedges to navigate under.
Poplars landfill site at Cannock is keeping the landfill teams on their toes keeping up with the capping works and installation of sacrificial pipelines which are constantly being connected, disconnected, moved and re-connected. It has been a great effort by the lads to keep up, especially as we have to fit all the other landfill works in around them.
The spring is here, the hedgerows are buzzing and the grass is growing.
We are well and truly into our stride and at the moment irrigation seems to be the main body of works which makes us think the growers and racecourses know something we don't! A long hot summer is what everyone needs and enjoys. It is also the perfect time to get that drainage installed, the ditches cleaned out and repairs to those culverts you have been meaning to get around to.
The website is still being set up but watch this space in the meantime for news updates.
